Most Windows 7 - 10 x64 users will be running the 32-bit (x86) version of Excel. Click here to find out how to tell if you're running the "special" 64-bit version of Excel. If you are running the "special" 64-bit version of Excel then use this link: ActiveDatax64.exe

When prompted, select Save to copy the file to your computer. Do not click Run at this point.

After the download completes click Run to install the software.

ActiveData For Excel runs with Excel 2007 - 2016 and supports both the 32 and 64 bit editions.

ActiveData For Excel runs on Windows 2000 to Windows 10 and supports Terminal Server and Citrix environments.

Please make sure that Excel is closed before installing the software.

If you have an older version of the software then please uninstall it first using Control Panel.

This file is a Microsoft Windows Installer package and requires administrative privileges to run.

Once installed, the software does not require administrative privileges.

Please contact us for instructions on installing the software in a Terminal Server or Citrix environment.


The Getting Started Guide

The Getting Started Guide contains examples that use data from the built-in sample workbook.

To open the Getting Started Guide, start Excel, click on the ActiveData tab and then select Help -> Open Getting Started Guide.

To open the sample workbook, start Excel, click on the ActiveData tab and then select Help -> Open ActiveData Sample Workbook


The evaluation version is the full Professional Edition of the product and is active for 30 days after installation. After that, the software can be activated as either a business or professional edition by purchasing the appropriate license.

The workbook commands section of the ActiveData ribbon remain active after the evaluation period ends and do not require a license to use.
